Fox & Hounds
A lone fox runs for freedom while four hounds close in. The chase is played on the dark squares of the board.
- The fox moves one square diagonally, in any direction.
- Each hound moves one square diagonally forward only — hounds can never retreat.
- There are no captures; pieces simply block one another.
- The hounds win by cornering the fox so it has no move left.
- The fox wins by slipping past the pack to the hounds' home row (or if the hounds get stuck). The fox moves first.
